What is the MCSA?
The new Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) credential focuses on the ability to design and build technology solutions. The MCSA certification is a prerequisite to achieving a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
What qualification do I receive?
The MCSA credential validates that an individual has the comprehensive set of skills necessary to perform a particular job role, such as Widows server 2008 or 2012 administrator, Windows 7/ 8 administrator or even SQL database administrator.
MCSA candidates are capable of deploying, building, designing, optimizing, and operating technologies for a particular job role. They make the design and technology decisions necessary to ensure successful technology implementation projects.

The MCSA Windows 7 certification demonstrates knowledge and skills in working with Windows 7 and validates ability to support end users and maintain systems and mobile devices that run Windows 7.
You will obtain the skills and knowledge required to install, deploy, and upgrade to Windows 7, including ensuring hardware and software compatibility. Additionally, learn how to configure system settings, Windows security features, network and remote connectivity applications, and mobile computing, as well as various troubleshooting tools and techniques that will enable you to address Startup, Group Policy, user profile, logon, and performance issues in Windows 7 in an enterprise network environment.

The MCSA Windows 8 certification demonstrates knowledge and skills in supporting Windows 8 computers, devices, users, and associated network and security resources. The networks with which these professionals typically work are configured as domain-based or peer-to-peer environments with access to the Internet and cloud services.

The Windows Server 2008 credentials are intended for candidates looking to become IT professionals who work in the complex computing environment of medium to large companies.
Study to become a server administrator who is responsible for the operations and day-to-day management of an infrastructure of Windows Server 2008 R2 servers for an enterprise organization. Windows server administrators manage the infrastructure, Web, and IT application servers.
Server administrators also support engineering projects. Server administrators are responsible for server builds and configuration. Their job role involves 60 percent operations, 20 percent engineering, and 20 percent support tasks.
The MCSA: Windows Server 2008 certification is based on Windows Server 2008 R2 technology and is a prerequisite to the MCSE: Private Cloud certification.
